The first mare to ever win the Breeders Cup Classic - she is perfect 14 for 14. Horse of the Year was earned today - and if it doesn't have her name on it she was robbed.

Some said the Ladies Classic would be less than normal without Zenyatta, but such was not the case. Careless Jewell opened up to roll away from the field but couldn't hold on. Her strides shortened on the turn and in the stretch Life is Sweet romped to the front opened up by daylight - awesome race.

Vertigineux is not a name that rolls off the tongue but most fans know her daughter Zenyatta very well...and next year's half sibling will be sired by Henrythenavigator. A half sister by Bernardini is at foot. Does Henrythenavigator sound familiar? He was second to Raven's Pass in the 2008 Breeders Cup Classic...

I had to re-watch the Lady's Secret Stakes won by Zenyatta after listening to Denman's ludicrous call for this event on Jockeys. Thankfully the real call understood there's not a lot of suspense in a closely grouped field of four with every horse positioned as expected.
